City of Berwyn issued the following announcement on June 26.
Metra will add trains on three lines, Sunday, June 30, to
accommodate those attending the 50th Annual Chicago Pride Parade. The parade kicks off at noon
at Montrose Avenue and Broadway in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood and ends near the
intersection of Diversey Parkway and Sheridan Road in Lincoln Park.
Extra trains will run on the BNSF, UP North and UP West lines. Other lines that operate
on Sundays will offer extra seating capacity. To view the modified schedules, click here.
In honor of Pride, Metra and Lyft have partnered to provide discounted Lyft rides to
parade-goers. Riders can use the code “LyftMetra19” to receive $5 off Lyft rides between stations
on all Metra lines that operate on Sundays and the parade. The discount is valid for up to two Lyft
rides on June 30 for a total savings of $10 per rider.
The parade route is also easily accessible through CTA connections from all five
downtown Chicago train stations: Chicago Union Station, Ogilvie Transportation Center,
Millennium Station, Van Buren Street Station and LaSalle Street Station.
For your biggest savings, take advantage of Metra’s $10 Weekend Pass. Offering
unlimited rides on Saturday and Sunday, the pass can be purchased on the train with cash or via
the Ventra App, which you can download at the App Store or Google Play. Monthly Pass holders
can also use their passes for unlimited weekend travel across the Metra system.
