Q2 2018 Recap: Parolees in River Grove convicted of homicide

There were two offenders convicted of homicide released on parole in River Grove during the second quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the West Cook News.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in River Grove were men. The younger parolee was a 34-year-old man sentenced in 2011. The other was a 48-year-old man sentenced in 1996.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Juan Figueroa. He was convicted of homicide in 1996 when he was 25 years old. He is now 48.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q2 2018 who were convicted of homicide.
