Hillside home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Hillside rose by $24,750 while total sales increased by 11.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 125 homes sold, with a median sale price of $160,000 - a 18.3% increase over the $135,250 median sale price for the previous year. There were 112 homes sold in Hillside in 2016.

The median sales tax in Hillside for 2017 was $4,251. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,728. This marks an increase of 14%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.7%.
