La Grange home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in La Grange rose by $31,000 while total sales increased by 6.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 285 homes sold, with a median sale price of $430,000 - a 7.8% increase over the $399,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 267 homes sold in La Grange in 2016.

The median sales tax in La Grange for 2017 was $9,393. In 2016, the median sales tax was $8,721. This marks an increase of 7.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.2%.
