ADVENTIST LA GRANGE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL: AMITA Health Physicians Named ‘Top Doctors’ in Chicago Metropolitan Area

Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on Jan. 30.

Eighteen AMITA Health physicians have been recognized as Top Doctors in the Chicago area according to a study conducted by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a healthcare research and information company, and published in the January 2019 edition of Chicago.

Castle Connolly invites licensed physicians across the U.S. to nominate peers as Top Doctors in any medical specialty and in any part of the nation. Physicians cannot nominate themselves and cannot pay to be named a Top Doctor. Each year, Castle Connolly receives nearly 100,000 nominations.

“The AMITA Health physicians recognized this year are to be commended on the work they do to provide the safest, highest quality care throughout the Chicagoland area,” said Stuart Marcus, MD, AMITA Health executive vice president and chief clinical officer. “These physicians were recognized directly by their peers for their excellence. We congratulate our Top Doctors and thank them for the outstanding care they provide.”

A physician-led Castle Connolly research team rigorously screens nominees. The team examines comprehensive information about each nominee, such as the nominee’s medical education, training, board certifications, hospital appointments, administrative posts, professional achievements and malpractice and disciplinary history.

After this careful review, Castle Connolly selects physicians for its Top Doctors lists. Regional Top Doctors are outstanding physicians who “are highly sought after physician leaders in their communities and metropolitan areas,” according to Castle Connolly’s website.
