Retired Lyons TWP HSD 204 employee Ann Moses saved $142,173 toward her pension over 21 years working for public schools, Illinois Teachers' Retirement Fund (TRS) records show.
Over 40 years of retirement, Moses would collect as much as $3.558 million, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes West Cook News.
Moses, 55, who currently lives in Western Springs, earned $118,329 in her final year at Lyons TWP HSD 204.
The projection assumes Moses will receive 37.8 percent of that total - $44,776 - in her first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.
After three years of retirement, Moses will have already received $138,398 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of her contributions to the state teachers' pension fund.
ISBE reported that 71.3 percent of Lyons TWP HSD 204 graduates were deemed "college ready" last year.
