BerwynCityMayor's Office issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.
In response to a recent report from The Chicago Tribune, it was insinuated that Berwyn water is unsafe to drink. Please be assured that this is not the case; Berwyn’s drinking water is safe and follows all standards set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency.
In February of 2016, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Drinking Water Compliance Unit confirmed that Berwyn’s water department successfully completed two six-month rounds of lead and copper monitoring without exceeding the action level / 15ppb
