The Oak Park Windmills Blue 10U team were crowned champions at the NAFA North American Championship Tournament played in Minneapolis last week. Coached by Mike Solberg and Bruce Morgan, the Windmills won their first six games to start the tournament. They were led by the dominate pitching of Olivia Perez and the consistent hitting at the top of the lineup by Elyssa Hasapis and Ava Solberg.
In the championship game on Sunday the Windmills were tied 2-2 with the defending champions, The Rosemount Irish going into the bottom of the last inning. With bases loaded and a 3-2 count, Windmills clean-up hitter Samantha Steinhofer smacked a double to clear the bases and seal the win for Oak Park.
