Village of Schiller Park Fire & Police Commission met April 17. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the commission:

I. Call to Order/Roll Call:


   The meeting was called to order by Chairman Rawski at 7:30 PM

   Upon call of the roll, the following were:

   Present:                 Commissioner Bauer, Commissioner Fritz, and

                                 Chairman Rawski

   Absent:                   None

  Others Present:      Secretary Botti, Chief Chiodo and Chief

                                  Fragakis

II. Pledge of Allegiance: All present.

III. Review and Vote to Adopt the Minutes for

    February and March Meetings:

    Motion by Commissioner Bauer to adopt the minutes of February 20,

    2018 meeting and second by Commissioner Fritz.

    Upon call of the roll, the following voted:

    Yes:                       Commissioner Bauer, Commissioner Fritz, and

                                  Chairman Rawski

    Abstained:             None

    No:                        None

   The Chairman declared the motion carried

   Motion by Commissioner Fritz to adopt an minutes for the Fire

   Department interviews on March 5th , 6th, 8th, 12th, 13th, 15th and 19th,

   2018 and second by Commissioner Bauer.

   Upon call of the roll, the following voted:

   Yes:                        Commissioner Bauer, Commissioner Fritz, and

                                  Chairman Rawski

   Abstained:              None

   No:                         None

   The Chairman declared the motion carried

IV. Review Correspondence and Bills:

     • Invoices

          • Xfinity re: Secretary's internet bill

          • Journal & Topics Newspapers re: Posting the notice for the new

             rules

     • Correspondence - Personnel

          • Letter from Chief Fragakis re: To recommend Joseph Lukowski

             as a permanent rank Police Officer

          • Journal & Topics Newspapers re: copy of the posted notice for

             the new rules

          • USB stick from Joe DeSimone re: Police Department Photos

V. Discuss Progress of All Probationary

    Employees in the Last Two Months of their

    Probationary Period. This Discussion May be in

    Executive Session:

    • Joseph R. Lukowski has successfully completed his probationary

       period and is being considered for appointment as a permanent

       Police Officer for the police department.

       Motion by Commissioner Bauer and second by Commissioner Fritz

       to concur with the recommendation of Chief Fragakis to

       conditionally appoint Joseph R. Lukowski to the permanent rank

       of Police Officer for the Police Department, as of April 18, 2018.

       Upon a call ofthe roll, the following voted:

       Yes:                    Commissioner Bauer, Commissioner Fritz and

                                  Chairman Rawski

        No:                     None

       The Chairman declared the motion carried.

VI. Discuss Status of Open Positions for Both Fire

      and Police Departments:

     • Police Department; is at full complement

     • Fire Department; one (1) opening. Hiring process will begin as soon

       as the budget is approved

VII. Conduct Annual Vote for Commission Chairman:

     Motion for nominations for Chairman for 2018 - 2019 fiscal year

     Motion made by Commissioner Fritz and second by Commissioner

     Bauer to nominate Glenn 1. Rawski to be Chairman for the 2018 ­

     2019 fiscal year.

     Upon roll call the following voted:

     Yes:                    Commissioner Bauer, Commissioner Fritz and

                                Chairman Rawski

     Abstained:           None

     No:                      None

     The Chairman declared the motion carried

VIII. Review and Discuss Amend Rule 3-2-A.2:

     • Secretary to send an email to Attorney about active military duty for

        Fire department

     • Chief Chiodo will research the age to have a Paramedic License

IX. Discuss the Research on New Medical

     Facilities for Both Fire and Police

     Department:

     • No change

X. Other Business:

     • None

XI. Public Comment:

     • No Comment

XII. Next Regular Meeting Notice:

     • The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at

        7:30 pm

XIII. Adjournment:

     Motion made by Commissioner Fritz and second by Commissioner

     Bauer to adjourn.

     Upon a call of the roll, the following voted:

     Yes:                   Commissioner Bauer, Commissioner Fritz, and

                               Chairman Rawski

     No:                     None

     The Chairman declared the motion carried; meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm.
