Village of Broadview Board of Trustees met April 18. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

Call to Order

The FY 2019 Budget Hearing of Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 was called to order by Mayor Thompson at 7:36

p.m., in the Village Chambers at 2350 South 25th Avenue, Broadview, IL 60155.

Roll Call

Upon roll call by Kevin McGrier, Village Clerk, the following answered Present: Trustee(s), J. Abraham, J.

Ealey, S. Jones, J. Tierney, V. Horne, J. Brown-Marino, Mayor Thompson. Absent: None*** (S. Jones arrives

at 7:37pm, J. Abraham arrives at 8:00pm)

There being a quorum the meeting was called to order.

Pledge of Allegiance to Flag

Everyone remained standing and recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.

Moment of Silence

Everyone joined in a moment of silence.

Public Comment(s)

Residents gave comments

Princess Dempsey commented on various budget items

Shirley Redmond commented on budget as well as food pantry

 Department Heads Presented their Department’s Budgets and Goals:

     • Finance Director Hicks opened the meeting, expressing each Department head would address the Board

        with their Achievements, Goals and proposed budget numbers

     • Mayor Thomson presented for the Executive Department

     • Clerk McGrier presented for the Clerk’s Office

     • Commissioner Upshaw presented for the Building Department

     • Director Hicks presented for the Finance Department

     • Director Ames presented for the Public Works Department

     • Chief Kenny presented for the Fire Department

     • Chief Eugling presented for the Police Department

     • Budget Officer Tom Hood then discussed each of the Funds and went into detail of all expense and

        revenue accounts.

     • Various questions were raised by the Trustees and answered by either Director Hicks or Officer Hood

     • Budget Officer Tom Hood then made his recommendation to the Board that this Budget as presented i

Motion to approve by Trustee Jones and Seconded by Trustee Ealey
