Report: Westchester spent $11,914 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Westchester School District 92-5 is up 19 percent from five years ago, according to a West Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $10,009 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,914 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1249 to 1145.

Westchester's spending in 2016-17 was 8 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
