City of Northlake City Council met April 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Sherwin asked everyone to stand for the pledge of allegiance. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call:

Present: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Padilla, Werba, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Gonzalez

Others Present: Carol Lampard, Finance Director

Nancy Pauletto, City Clerk Mark Sterk, Attorney Norm Nissen, Chief Of Police Dale Roberts, Superintendent Public Works

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the regular meeting held on March 19, 2018. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held March 19, 2018; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

Motion To Accept The Minutes Of The March 19, 2018 City Council Meeting Carried

Alderman Patti made a motion to pay the warrants and vouchers if and when the funds become available; seconded by Alderman Padilla. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Padilla, Werba, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Gonzalez

Nays: None

Motion To Pay The Warrants And Vouchers Carried

The Mayor noted the water main work has begun; a vacant lot at Fullerton and Geneva owned by the City has sold and a new house will be built there; and construction should begin by the end of summer on the new senior building on North Avenue.

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the engineer’s recommendation of ALamp Concrete’s bid in the amount of $2,812,988.07 for the 2018 Capital Improvements Program; seconded by Alderman Padilla. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Padilla, Werba, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Gonzalez

Nays: None

Motion To Approve The Engineer’s Recommendation Of Alamp Concrete’s Bid In The Amount Of $2,812,988.07 For The 2018 Capital Improvements Program Carried

Mayor Sherwin presented Ordinance O-06-2018; an Ordinance Establishing a Senior Citizen Sanitary Sewer Repair Assistance Program and Amending Title 7 of the Northlake City Code. Alderman Padilla made a motion to approve Ordinance O-06-2018; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

Roll Call: Alderman Straube, Feldmann, Contreras, Padilla, Werba, Grochowski And Patti

Absent: Alderman Gonzalez

Nays: None

Motion To Approve Ordinance O-06-2018; An Ordinance Establishing A Senior Citizen Sanitary Sewer Repair Assistance Program And Amending Title 7 Of The Northlake City Code Carried

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
