Analysis: Cicero pays $3.58 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Cicero Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78 percent of the $7,160,449 the Cicero Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.58 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Cicero contributed $5,585,411 to the fund, which saw a $1,057,209 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $1,556,195, or 21.7 percent, in 2016. Another $18,843 came from other unspecified sources.
