Analysis: Brookfield pays $5.76 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Brookfield Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.6 percent of the $1,927,451 the Brookfield Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.76 for every $1 from pension members, according to a West Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Brookfield contributed $1,591,846 to the fund, which saw a $300,124 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $276,134, or 14.3 percent, in 2016. Another $59,471 came from other unspecified sources.
