Pleasantview FPD responds to 110 fires in 2016

Pleasantview Fire Protection District responded to 645 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the West Cook News.

The calls in Pleasantview included 110 fires - 60 structure fires, 23 vehicle fires and 25 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $337,816 in fire loss - or about $3,071 per fire.

The department also received 535 false calls, including four malicious calls and 531 other false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related injuries. Additionally, three fire service member were injured in non fire-related incidents.
