Central Stickney School District 110 Board met May 3.

Here is the agenda provided by the Board:

Call to Order by President Pro Tem 

Roll Call 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag 

Mission Statement:

The Mission of Charles J. Sahs School, in cooperation with students, parents and community, is to provide a safe educational environment that encourages all children to reach their fullest potential while promoting academic growth, building character, developing citizenship, and creating lifelong learners.

B. Motion to Appoint Members to Fill Vacancies on the School Board 

C. Oath of Office and Seating of New Board Members: (President administers Oath)

a. “ I (Name) do solemnly swear that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the

office of member of the Board of Education of Central Stickney School District #110, in accordance with the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Illinois, and the laws of the State of Illinois, to the best of my ability. I further swear: I shall respect taxpayers interests by serving as a faithful protector of the School District’s assets; I shall encourage and respect the free expression of opinion by my fellow Board members and others who seek a hearing before the School Board, while respecting the privacy of students and employees; I shall recognize that a Board member has no legal authority as an individual and that decisions can be made only by the majority vote at a public Board meeting: and I shall abide by majority decisions of the Board, while retaining the right to seek changes in such decisions through ethical and constructive channels. 

D. Reorganization of the Board (Election of officers)

a. Elect President:

i. Motion to nominate member as Board President. 

ii. Motion to close nominations for Board President. 

iii. Voice vote 

iv. Voice vote on original motion 

b. Elect Vice President:

i. Motion to nominate member as Board Vice President.

ii. Motion to close nominations for Board Vice President. 

iii. Voice vote 

iv. Voice vote on original motion 

c. Elect Secretary:

i. Motion to nominate member as Board Secretary. 

ii. Motion to close nominations for Board Secretary. 

iii. Voice vote 

iv. Voice vote on original motion 

d. Date and time of Regular Board Meetings:

i. Motion to set the third Wednesday of each month (unless a holiday) at

7:00 pm as the date and time of regular meetings. 

ii. Voice vote 

e. Appoint Attorney:

i. Motion to retain Hodges, Loizzi, Eisenhammer, Rodick & Kohn as the

Board of Education Attorney 

ii. Voice vote 

f. Appoint Bookkeeper:

i. Motion to retain Baker Tilly as bookkeeper 

ii. Voice vote 

g. Appoint Architect:

i. Motion to retain SPM Architects as the District Architect firm

ii. Voice vote 

h. Appoint IASB Representative and Alternate:

i. Motion to appoint IASB Representative
