Joliet City Council met April 12.

I. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Mayor Robert O’Dekirk, Councilwoman Brooke HernandezBrewer, Councilwoman Bettye Gavin, Councilman John E. Gerl, Councilman Larry E. Hug, Councilman Terry Morris, Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Michael F. Turk. ABSENT: None. ALSO PRESENT: City Manager James D. Hock, Inspector General Chris Regis.

III. DISCUSSION ON HIRING PROCESS FOR CITY MANAGER POSITION
The Mayor briefly discussed the previous process for filling the upcoming City Manager vacancy. City Manager, Jim Hock, briefly discussed expenditures of the previous recruitment expense. He stated GovHR is proposing a three month process for the City Manager recruitment and selection process. He stated GovHR is a local company and the City is currently utilizing this company for the management study. Mayor and Council gave consensus to move forward with GovHr for the selection process.

Motion to enter closed session to discuss personnel was made by Councilman Michael F. Turk. Motion seconded by Councilwoman Brooke Hernandez-Brewer. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Councilwoman Brooke Hernandez-Brewer, Councilwoman Bettye Gavin, Councilman John E. Gerl, Councilman Larry E.
