The Village of Maywood and Republic Services are helping homeowners discard large trash items.
A Village Clean-Up will be held covering several regions of the city on four Wednesday trash-pickup days in October and November.
Large, bulky items will be collected, but smaller, loose items must be placed in a larger container or tied together. Hazardous-waste materials will not be collected.
The first service areas will be Roosevelt north to I-290 and First Avenue west to 25th Avenue, on Oct. 5.
The following week, on Oct. 12, Republic will pick up unwanted items from I-290 north to Madison and Greenwood West to 21st Avenue.
Week three’s pickup will take place along Madison North to Railroad and First Avenue West to 21st Avenue on Oct. 26.
The fourth and final clean up date is Nov. 2, when trash will be collected from Main Street North to Village Limits and Desplaines West to Ninth Avenue.
Homeowners are asked to place the unwanted items at their regular garbage-pickup curbside spots on the Wednesday morning that corresponds with your address.
