At a recent meeting, the Westchester Village Board discussed residential and commercial sprinkler systems.
The Westchester Village Board of Trustees meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the Village Hall Board Room, 10300 W. Roosevelt Road.

President Pulia called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
President Pulia led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Deputy Clerk Jessica Spencer called the roll: Present: Village President Sam D. Pulia and Trustees Angelo Calcagno, Carl Celestino, Celestine Reda, Nick Steker, and Tom Yurkovich Also Present: Attorney Melissa Wolf, Chief Jim Adams, Chief Steve Stelter, Chris Webber, Robert Lewis, and Greg Hribal Absent: Trustee Frank Perry
There were no presentations, however President Pulia discussed how Brian Meyer, of the US Air Force, visited the Village Hall and presented a plaque and an American Flag to the Village in appreciation for the supplies that were sent overseas to his base in November of last year.
President Pulia requested a moment of silence for the lives lost at terrorist attacks in Paris this morning.
There were no public hearings.

Trustee Reda moved to approve An Ordinance Waiving the Requirements of the Village of Westchester Purchasing Policies and Procedures Manual and Ratifying the Purchase of a Gazebo from Amish Country Gazebos, in the Amount of $11,046.00, Trustee

Attorney's Report - Attorney Wolf had nothing to report at this time.
Board Member Reports and New Business Trustee Steker - He discussed his thoughts regarding a tornado siren and new computers for the Squad cars. He requested the Board provide Greg with the authority to move forward on these topics.
Trustee Reda - She had nothing to report.
Trustee Celestino - He had nothing to report.
Trustee Calcagno - He discussed a letter that was placed in his Village mailbox regarding the sprinkler Systems required in Condo buildings. He passed the letter to President Pulia to follow up on.
Trustee Yurkovich - He had nothing to report.
Chief Stelter - The Chief explained how he was invited to speak on Oak Park's radio channel to discuss the current events with other municipal leaders. He invited the public to National Night Out on Tuesday, August 2" at 6:00 p.m.
Chief Adams - The Chief described a fire that occurred this afternoon that his department responded to, and how the Sprinkler system kept the fire in check before his team could arrive. The business could be operating as early as tomorrow, with limited damage and no human loss.
Chris Webber - He had nothing to report.
Greg Hribal - National Night Out is August 2". The Movie in the Park that was cancelled from last week will be rescheduled for Tuesday's event, playing Big Hero 6. The Music Fest is August 6". President Pulia requested an update on the Gladstone Park camera
situation, Mr. Hribal advised the Board that the Intergovernmental Agreement is in the hands of the Park District.
Robert Lewis - There was one home reported to have damage due to the storms this past weekend. One of the two de-watering pumps is working at Mayfair Reservoir.
President's Report – He had nothing to report.
There were two public comments: Daniel Damaschke representing Lacey's Place. He asked the Board if they would consider another gaming location in the Village. President Pulia discussed the qualifications for a "restaurant" that the Board has previously expressed interest in. Carl Santucci requested clarity on the cell tower issue. President Pulia explained the most recent information available.
President Pulia stated that the executive session will commence after the Committee of the Whole.
Trustee Yurkovich moved to adjourn the Board Meeting; Trustee Calcagno Seconded the motion. By a Voice vote, the motion passed.
President Pulia declared the meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
