Bellwood Village Board considers bond-issue ordinance

At a recent meeting, the Bellwood Board of Trustees considered an ordinance to allow the issuance of general obligation bonds.

Along with the mayor of Bellwood, the board of trustees acts as the village’s corporate authority and exercises municipal powers that have not been specifically delegated to another office or board in the municipality. Bellwood’s six trustees form the legislative body. They are elected from the village at large to four-year terms.

The Village Board of the Village of Bellwood will conduct a regular board meeting on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the Village Board Room at 3200 Washington Boulevard, Bellwood, IL 60104-1984 for the purposes of considering the following agenda:

iv Item C - The Resolution referenced herein allows for a Class 6b which grants the owner a reduction in real estate taxes for a thirteen-year period, Cook County provides municipalities with the ability to provide said real estate tax incentives in order to minimize the number of vacant, dilapidated and blighted property within their respective communities,
