The Park District of Oak Park will hold two community meetings this spring as part of a feasibility study for a new indoor recreation center.

The study was part of the district's 10-year strategic plan created in 2014.

The Chicago firm Sink Combs will facilitate the study, which will look to outline the activities that should be offered by an Oak Park rec center, where that center should be located, and what it would cost. The study will be steered locally by a task force of representatives from the Village of Oak Park, the Township of Oak Park, District 97, District 200 and the Oak Park Public Library.

As part of the process, the task force will host a community input meeting March 23 and a community open house on April 27. Dates and times for both gatherings will be announced later this winter. A draft version of the feasibility plan is scheduled for May 19, with a deadline for a final copy set for June 16.

Both presentations are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Hedges Administrative Center.
