The north side entrance to the Congress Park Metra Station is now fully open following the completion of improvement work. Commuters can access the station from Southview Avenue using a new concrete sidewalk and drive, which have replaced the previous asphalt path extending from the station tunnel.

The project included several upgrades, such as a new stormwater system that meets Village code requirements, improvements for ADA compliance, and new decorative pedestrian lighting. Minor remaining tasks will be finished in the coming weeks.

Funding for the approximately $315,000 project came mainly from a $250,000 Invest in Cook grant provided by Cook County.
