Sixteen new police officers have joined the Cicero Police Department after completing training at two local academies in August. Seven officers graduated from the Cook County Sheriff’s Training Academy at Triton College in Maywood on August 21. The following day, six more finished their program at the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy in Addison.

Three additional recruits were sworn in during a ceremony at the Cicero Police Department on August 25. On August 26, all sixteen new officers attended a Town Board meeting where they were introduced to town leaders and community members.

Town President Larry Dominick addressed the new officers and acknowledged their service. “Public safety has always been a top priority in Cicero, and these new officers represent our continued investment in keeping our families safe,” President Dominick said. “I’m proud to welcome them to our team and I know they will serve our residents with honor and professionalism.”

The hiring of these officers is part of Cicero’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public safety for its residents.
