Parents and guardians are invited to attend Back-to-School Night at Oak Park and River Forest High School on Thursday, August 28, 2025. The event will begin with schedule pickup from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m. at the main entrance, where families can collect their child’s schedule and a school map. Families are encouraged to log in and view schedules online through Skyward before arrival to avoid lines.

A welcome session featuring Superintendent Greg Johnson and Principal Lynda Parker will take place in the auditorium at 6:15 p.m.

From 6:30 to 8:39 p.m., parents can follow their child’s class schedule, meet teachers, and learn about classroom expectations. The evening will not include an Advisory Period.

During lunch periods, attendees may visit the South Cafeteria for information sessions led by Deans and Campus Safety Director Kristen Devitt about ongoing restorative practices and safety protocols. Special locations are designated for physical education (Field House), driver education (Room 3314), as well as counselors and social workers (Rooms 2139, 2151, 2250 & 3151).

Complimentary refreshments will be available in the South Cafeteria throughout the evening. Parents are also invited to meet representatives from various school groups, parent organizations, and members of the Board of Education in the Student Commons outside the Auditorium. The Huskie Booster Club will have spirit wear available for purchase.

Oak Park and River Forest High School serves students in grades nine through twelve with an enrollment of approximately 3,393 students during the 2019-2020 academic year according to data from Illinois Report Card. Grade ten had the largest proportion of students at that time with roughly one-quarter enrolled in that grade (source). Demographic data for that year showed that just under sixty percent of students identified as white; other represented groups included black (18.2%), Hispanic (12.6%), and Asian (3.8%) populations (source).
