Seniors in Cicero gathered at the Cicero Community Center for a Bingo night as part of the annual National Night Out event. The evening was designed to bring together residents, public safety officials, and community leaders, with a special focus on activities for older adults.
Town President Larry Dominick participated in the event by calling out winning Bingo numbers, joined by his wife, Diana Dominick, who is also the Director of the Cicero Senior Center. “It’s always great to spend time with our seniors,” said President Dominick. “National Night Out is about building community, and what better way to do that than by sharing some laughs and friendly competition together.”
Diana Dominick added that events like this are among many ways Cicero recognizes its senior population. “Our seniors are the heart of our community,” she said. “They love Bingo, they love being together, and tonight we got to see so many smiles. That’s what makes all of this worthwhile.”
The gymnasium was filled with participants marking their cards and celebrating each win with applause. The event provided an opportunity for seniors not only to compete for gift cards but also to connect with friends and meet new people.
While National Night Out included activities for various age groups throughout Cicero, organizers highlighted that creating a sense of belonging was central to the evening’s success.
