Cook County is organizing the Pathways to Cook County Summit, scheduled for August 6, 2025, at the UIC Dorin Forum in Chicago. The event aims to increase opportunities for small businesses and foster engagement between the county government and local communities.

The summit is being coordinated by the Cook County Office of the Chief Procurement Officer with participation from nearly 90 departments and agencies. Attendees will have access to vendors, workshops, and interactive sessions intended to help them build professional networks and learn strategies for business growth.

President Toni Preckwinkle and John Roberson, Executive Vice President of the Obama Foundation, will open the event. They plan to discuss public service, community empowerment, and leadership within Cook County.

“The Pathways Summit is about opening doors and building bridges between Cook County government and the communities we serve,” said President Preckwinkle. “We’re creating space for connection, collaboration, and opportunity—whether you’re looking to engage with government services, explore career paths, or grow your organization’s reach.”

Participants will be able to interact directly with various county departments, gain insight into best practices, and obtain resources through practical learning sessions. The summit reflects Cook County’s focus on inclusive governance and equitable development.

Registration is currently available for residents, business owners, community leaders, professionals, and those interested in public service. More information can be found at cookgov.me/PathwaysSummit.
