As the 2024-2025 school year draws to a close, Oak Park and River Forest High School (OPRFHS) has released details regarding final examinations. Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning, Dr. Laurie Fiorenza, provided the information to help students and families prepare for the exam week.

Final exams for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are scheduled from Tuesday, May 27 to Thursday, May 29, 2025. During these days, there will be no regular classes; instead, exams will follow a specific schedule:

- On Tuesday: Period 1 from 8:30 to 10:10 a.m., Period 7 from 10:20 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Period 4 from 12:10 to 1:50 p.m.

- On Wednesday: Period 2 from 8:30 to 10:10 a.m., Period 8 from 10:20 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and Period 5 from 12:10 to 1:50 p.m.

- On Thursday: Periods will include Period 3 from 8:30 to 10:10 a.m., Period 6 from 10:20 a.m. to noon, with make-up exams occurring in the afternoon.

Notably, there will be no advisory period during this time.

For seniors, the academic quarter ends on Wednesday, May 21. Final exams for seniors are set for Thursday and Friday of that week without any changes in their regular bell schedule. All classwork must be submitted by May 21. Seniors are required to attend all classes unless they have an Advanced Placement (AP) exam scheduled.

Dr. Fiorenza emphasized that "we expect all students to attend final exams during the scheduled time." She also noted that "seniors whose passing class grade is contingent on successful completion of the Final Exam must take this exam before the end of the school day on Friday, May 23."

Students with three exams in one day must complete them as scheduled unless illness or tardiness prevents attendance at an exam session; these cases may utilize the make-up period. Teachers are not permitted to reschedule exams outside designated times.

Additionally, access to Skyward will be unavailable after Tuesday morning until late Friday night during exam week.

The school urges students and families to plan accordingly as they navigate this critical time in the academic calendar.
