Larry Dominick was inaugurated for a sixth term as Cicero Town President at Cicero Town Hall. The ceremony, attended by family, town officials, students from Unity Junior High, and community members, marked a significant milestone in Dominick's career.
The event began with Anthony Grazzini as Master of Ceremonies. Town Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias thanked attendees and congratulated re-elected officials. Emo Cundari, the Town Assessor, praised Dominick's leadership since his first campaign in 2005. “When Larry came into office, Cicero faced serious challenges — crime, graffiti, and public safety issues,” said Cundari. “But he built a strong team, and together they turned things around.”
A video produced by NCTV’s Steve Kallevik highlighted Dominick’s achievements over two decades. These include improved public safety and infrastructure and the development of parks and community spaces. Notable developments under his leadership include Breakthru Beverage Group–formerly Wirtz Beverage–and the Bobby Hull Community Ice Rink.
Dominick expressed gratitude during his speech: “It brings tears to my eyes because it’s been nothing but joy. I love working for the people.” He acknowledged his late son Brian and emphasized teamwork: “It’s not a one-man job,” he said. “United we stand, divided we fall.”
Judge ShawnTe Raines-Welch administered the oath to President Dominick along with other officials including Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias and Trustees Blanca Vargas and Bob Porod.
Looking ahead, Dominick announced plans to renovate a building at 59 and 35th Street into a senior center while transforming the current Senior Center into a "mini town hall." He also mentioned opening Phil Fuentes All Ability Park this summer.
“Four more years,” said Dominick with optimism. “We’re going to keep moving Cicero forward.”
The ceremony concluded on a note of unity and continued commitment to service under Larry Dominick's leadership.
