The Brookfield Beautification Commission is reaching out to the community for assistance in enhancing local parks and public spaces through the upcoming Spring Project NICE. The initiative will take place on May 17, 2024, starting at 8:30 a.m. at Kiwanis Park Pavilion, located at 8820 Brookfield Ave. Participants can join individually or with family and friends to contribute to the community efforts.

Attendees will receive a worksite assignment upon arrival, along with gloves and a free T-shirt, available while supplies last. Additionally, participants will be offered a sweet treat. Those planning to engage in planting or weeding activities are encouraged to bring their own gardening gloves and tools.

In collaboration with the Salt Creek Watershed Network, this year's Project NICE will also incorporate a Salt Creek cleanup event. Volunteers interested in this activity are advised to mention their experience level during registration. A personal canoe or kayak is required for those opting for the creek cleanup.

Minors under 18 not affiliated with pre-registered groups are required to present a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Waiver forms are available online for electronic completion.

The Commission anticipates a successful turnout and encourages community members to participate to enhance Brookfield’s public spaces.
