Jesús "Chuy" García, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 4th district since 2019, has been active on social media sharing his views and experiences. Born in Durango, Mexico, and currently residing in Chicago, García has a background in the Illinois Senate and Cook County Board of Commissioners. He graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a BA.

On March 9, 2025, García shared his participation in a local event celebrating St. Patrick's Day. "Another fun St. Patrick’s event with my constituents in Elmhurst! Mayor Levin and his team sure know how to celebrate! "

Two days later, on March 11, 2025, he addressed an issue concerning the detention of a U.S. student for free speech activities. He criticized this action as illegal and against democratic values: "Detaining a U.S. student and resident for exercising his right to free speech is not only illegal, it is a direct threat to our democratic values." He further accused the Trump administration of using immigration as a tool to suppress dissent.

Later that day, García participated in a House Judiciary hearing where he discussed financial disparities within the NCAA: "In today’s @HouseJudiciary hearing, I laid out the facts: the NCAA is a multi-billion dollar industry..." He highlighted concerns about athletes receiving minimal compensation compared to coaches and administrators who earn substantial salaries.
