The Town of Cicero hosted its 17th annual Daddy-Daughter Dance on February 7, 2025, at the Cicero Community Center. The event was organized by the Cicero Youth Commission and the Special Events Department, with sponsorship from President Larry Dominick and the Board of Trustees. It remains one of the town's most popular family gatherings.

This year saw record attendance, with 660 guests securing their spots within two weeks of ticket sales opening. Patty Salerno, Cicero’s Director of Special Events, highlighted the effort made to ensure a memorable evening for all participants.

“This is one of the town of Cicero’s most popular events for families. We sell out within two weeks. This year we’ve had a record number of attendees. We tried to accommodate as many as we could. President Dominick and the Board put their heart and soul into this event to make it a great family fun event,” Salerno said.

The night featured music, dancing, dinner, desserts, raffles, and photo booth opportunities. Fathers and daughters dressed up for an evening filled with quality time together.

For many families, attending has become an annual tradition. David Arroyo attended with his daughter Eliana for the third time and expressed gratitude for the town's efforts: “I think just the quality time and everything the town puts together for us makes it special.”

Oscar and his daughter Aliyah also attended for their third time. Oscar enjoyed seeing children's reactions when their favorite songs played: “Honestly, I like to give joy back to the kids. When we put on music, they have a great reaction. They start dancing—it’s the best feeling.”

Some were first-time attendees like Miguel Angel and his daughter Catalina who were invited by a friend; they looked forward to creating new memories. Dan accompanied his daughter Melanie for their first dance together.

Grandfathers joined in as well; David and his granddaughter Vicki anticipated dancing and taking photos: “We’re going to have a good time,” he said.

As another successful Daddy-Daughter Dance concluded, Cicero continues fostering community spirit through events that bring families together. Attendees enjoyed an evening filled with laughter at the Cicero Community Center.
