The National Weather Service has issued a warning for potentially hazardous conditions this evening due to expected freezing rain and drizzle. Residents are advised to exercise caution as even vehicles with four-wheel drive or SUVs are not immune to the dangers posed by icy roads.

The Public Works Division is preparing to salt the roads later today in anticipation of these slippery conditions. Residents are encouraged to minimize street parking, which will facilitate better coverage by the salt trucks.

For those who can, staying home is recommended if road conditions worsen. The public is urged to allow extra travel time if they must be on the roads.

For ongoing updates, follow the US National Weather Service Chicago Illinois for the latest weather information specific to the area.
