A referendum question will appear on the April 1, 2025, Consolidated Election ballot. It will ask residents to consider funding $45 million for critical infrastructure projects through General Obligation Bonds over the next decade. This funding aims to support essential infrastructure in the Village, including roadways, water mains, sewers (storm, sanitary, combined), sidewalks, street lighting, and more.

The Village has provided resources for residents ahead of the election. Information about Referendum 2025 is available on the Village website at www.wsprings.com/ref2025. The site includes a description of critical infrastructure needs and bond funding history; types of proposed projects; a property tax calculator showing potential impacts; and voting information for the election.

Village staff will host Open House meetings in the coming months where residents can learn more and ask questions about the Village’s infrastructure needs and the upcoming referendum:

- Thursday, January 23, 5:30 pm online

- Tuesday, February 11, 6 - 8 pm at Thomas Ford Public Library

- Thursday, March 13 with time and location to be determined

Referendum 2025 presents an opportunity to secure funding for critical projects vital to community well-being. Residents are encouraged to become informed before voting on April 1, 2025. A special issue of Tower Topics will be released in February.

*Note: The Consolidated General Election is scheduled for April 1, 2025. This date coincides with spring break for many local schools. Residents planning to be out of town are advised to vote early or by mail.
