Oak Park has been recognized as one of the top destinations to visit in 2025 by Travel Lemming. It is among 13 U.S. locations on the list and is the only destination from Illinois. Other global spots featured include Lombok, Indonesia; El Calafate, Argentina; County Kerry, Ireland; and Montreal, Canada.

Rachel Kapelke-Dale, a senior travel writer for Travel Lemming, described Oak Park as more than just an affluent suburb of Chicago. She highlighted its significance as the birthplace of American author Ernest Hemingway and noted that renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright lived and worked there. "A casual stroll around the suburb will take you past numerous examples of his work," she wrote.

The community hosts events such as the Frank Lloyd Wright races in the fall, which include 5K, 10K, and youth mile races through notable architectural sites.

Oak Park is home to about 54,500 residents and is located immediately west of Chicago. It is known for its architectural heritage and diverse population within its 4.7 square miles. The area features a mix of cultures, races, ethnicities, professions, lifestyles, religions, ages, and incomes.

Attractions in Oak Park include the Oak Park Conservatory; Ernest Hemingway Birthplace Museum; Frank Lloyd Wright's Home and Studio; and Unity Temple—a UNESCO World Heritage site designed by Wright. The village also has 12 business districts with independently owned restaurants, breweries, boutiques, health studios, and more.

Travel Lemming has been promoting emerging destinations since 2017 with advice featured in Lonely Planet, NBC News, Euronews, Mic among others.

Oak Park offers a unique urban/suburban lifestyle with progressive values and convenient access to transit systems. Its high-quality public schools and cultural attractions make it an ideal place to live or visit.
