On November 25, 2024, García paid tribute to Harold Washington on the anniversary of his passing. He stated: "37 years ago today, Harold Washington, Chicago's first Black Mayor, passed away. His leadership brought in a new era of progressive politics that forever transformed our city. I had the honor of working with Harold, and I am grateful for the lasting impact he made on our city."
On November 27, 2024, García informed his constituents about office closures due to the Thanksgiving holiday: "Heads up #IL04! Both my D.C. and District offices will be closed for Thanksgiving holiday beginning at noon, Nov. 27th. We will reopen on Monday, December 2nd."
The following day on November 28, 2024, García extended holiday greetings via social media: "Happy Thanksgiving from my staff and I! May this be a time filled with community and gratitude."
