Officers responded to an incident on the 6400 block of Roosevelt Road, where they found a white 2013 Jaguar XJ overturned after hitting a cement barricade and tree. Inside the vehicle was Scott Robinson, a 34-year-old Chicago resident, who had been shot. The Oak Park Fire Department arrived to provide medical assistance. Robinson was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in critical condition but was pronounced dead at 7:45 a.m.

During their preliminary investigation, officers discovered at least 11 shell casings on the 6300 block of Roosevelt Road. Witnesses reported seeing an offender shooting into Robinson's vehicle before it traveled westbound and crashed.

Authorities believe that Robinson was specifically targeted and assure there is no ongoing threat to the community. The West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force has joined the investigation, which remains active.

The Oak Park Police Department urges anyone with information to contact them at 708.358.3800 or anonymously at 708.434.1636 or online at www.oak-park.us/crimetip.
