City of Northlake City Council met Oct. 21

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: ALDERMAN STRAUBE

ALDERMAN FELDMANN

ALDERMAN SOSA

ALDERMAN JOHNSON

ALDERMAN URBINA

ALDERMAN PATTI

ABSENT: ALDERMAN CONTRERAS

ALDERMAN GROCHOWSKI

OTHERS PRESENT: KEN BERES, CHIEF OF POLICE

TONY FACIANO, PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDET

MARK STERK, CITY ATTORNEY

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on October 7, 2024. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on October 7, 2024; seconded by Alderman Urbina. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL

MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 7, 2024 CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Sosa.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL: ALDERMEN STRAUBE, FELDMANN, SOSA, JOHNSON, URBINA AND PATTI

ABSENT: ALDERMAN CONTRERAS

ALDERMAN GROCHOWSKI

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin reminded everyone the Senior Dinner is this Thursday. The 75th anniversary video screening on Friday is sold out for 7:00; if enough people are interested there will be an 8:00 screening. Also a reminder that Boofest is on the 31st and volunteers are still needed.

Alderman Feldmann made a motion to approve Resolution R-10-2024; A Resolution Approving an Expenditure of Matching Funds for Improvements to Parkview Drive Bridge and Palmer Avenue Bridge Amendment #1 Section Number 20-00098-00-BR; Project No. JUC(911); Job No. C-91-003-23 Cook County, Illinois; seconded by Alderman Straube. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

NAYS: NONE

MOTION TO APPROVE RESOLUTION R-10-2024; A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN EXPENDITURE OF MATCHING FUNDS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO PARKVIEW DRIVE BRIDGE AND PALMER AVENUE BRIDGE AMENDMENT #1 SECTION NUMBER 20-00098-00-BR; PROJECT NO. JUC(911); JOB NO. C-91-003-23 COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS CARRIED

A resident came forward to inquire about rodent control. Another resident came forward with questions regarding a home in his neighborhood in disrepair and noted construction on North Ave. is facilitating many speeders blowing frontage road stop signs and traffic lights.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
