The Brookfield Beautification Commission has revealed the winners of its 2024 Halloween House Decorating Contest. The contest recognized top entries in two categories: "Spooky" and "Fall Seasonal."
Each category winner receives a $50 Enjoy Brookfield gift card, redeemable at any business in Brookfield.
In the "Spooky" category, Ben Meyerson's entry at 8501 Greenview Ave. won among seven contestants. His home's front entrance was transformed into a monster head, featuring red glowing eyes, jagged teeth, and a long red tongue that emitted smoke. Meyerson said, "Monster House is a celebration of the unique architecture that makes Brookfield special." He added that their house's distinctive round porch gives it character and charm.
For the "Fall Seasonal" category, Alexandra Andrews at 9328 Lincoln Ave. topped four nominations with her not-so-scary graveyard scene on her front lawn. The display included witches attending to a cauldron and pumpkins scattered around. Andrews expressed her enthusiasm for decorating as new residents by saying, "I want to continue adding cute fall/Halloween decorations for all ages."
