Town President Larry Dominick, Fire Commissioner Jeff Penzkofer, and officials from the Cicero Police Department distributed Halloween candy to children in Cicero on Wednesday, October 31. The distribution was carried out using several fire trucks from the Cicero Fire Department.

The fire trucks created excitement as they traveled through the town, stopping at eight locations to hand out candy to trick-or-treating children. "We wanted to make Halloween a little more fun for the town’s children and we thought delivering candy to children using a fire truck would do that," President Dominick said. He added, "And it worked. The children enjoyed seeing the fire truck and firefighters in uniform helping to hand out the candy and it made this Halloween a little bit more special."

President Dominick participated in handing out candy alongside firefighters as children gathered around the trucks at various stops throughout the town. Senior Center Director Diana Dominick remarked, "Larry loves to see the children happy and enjoying themselves and the fire trucks, firefighters and police distributing candy made it a lot of fun for the kids this Halloween."

Deputy Police Superintendent Dominic Schullo and Cicero Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias also joined in distributing candy during this event which took place between 4 PM and 6 PM at several locations including 14th and 50th Streets, Warren Park School, Sherlock School, among others.

Photos of the event can be viewed on Facebook.com/TownofCicero.
