Proviso Township Board met Aug. 21

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER

The Board of Township Trustees of the Township of Proviso met at the Office of the Township Clerk, 4565 Harrison Street, Hillside, IL 60162, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

2. ROLL CALL

Supervisor Corrigan called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. and on a roll call

The following responded present: Trustees Christopher, Chavez, Chase, and Supervisor Corrigan. Also present were Attorney Durkin and Assessor Zawaski.

Trustee Thomas attended the meeting via audio conference.

3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Supervisor Corrigan led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Trustee Chase moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez, that the Board of Trustees approve the minutes of the Township Board Meeting held on August 5, 2024.

Ayes: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Chase, and Supervisor Corrigan

Nays: None

Absent: None

Motion Carried

5. APPROVAL OF BILLS

Trustee Thomas moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher, that the Board of Trustees approve payment of the bills submitted for August 1, 2024 – August 15, 2024.

Ayes: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Chase, and Supervisor Corrigan

Nays: None

Absent: None

6. ATTORNEY’S REPORT

Discussed upcoming Centennial Meeting. 

7. CLOSED SESSION

None

8. OLD BUSINESS

A. Supervisor’s Report – No warrants. Handyman monthly report – Over 140 job requests completed. Transportation Utilization report discussed. Illinois General Assembly report – New laws signed (see highlights).

B. Clerk’s Report – None

C. Trustee’s Report – None

D. Elected Officials Report – None

E. Staff Report – Lindida Rizzo gave a detailed report on the Senior Day. Over 525 seniors attended. Lots of items were donated including 600 lunch boxes, Solution for Care products, assorted fruit and more. Vendors from 14 local agencies attended and they had a live band (The Moods). Berkeley Finer Foods, Westchester Food Pantry and Lyons Club of Westchester conducted 47 hearing and retina testing. The event was well attended and no issues.

9. NEW BUSINESS

A. Consideration to approve specific personnel matters requiring board action.

10. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

None

11. ADJOURNMENT

Trustee Chavez moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher, that the Board of Trustees adjourn the meeting at 5:48 p.m.
