On Sunday, August 25, 2024, Cicero Community Park hosted the grand finale of Summer in the Park, an event organized by the Town of Cicero and the Department of Special Events. The day began at 4 PM with a variety of activities that engaged families and friends.
Attendees enjoyed a rock climbing wall, EuroBungy, and a 250-foot zip line. The Cincinnati Circus performed for the crowd, while balloon twisting and face painting added to the festivities. Despite nearly 100-degree heat, participants stayed cool with snow cones, cotton candy, popcorn, and hot dogs. Free giveaways included beach balls and frisbees.
Griselda Unzueta from the Special Events department stated, “It’s a really fun time to just bring the community together. We want to thank our Town President Larry Dominick and the board of trustees; they are very helpful and very supportive. The staff of special events was here at 10 in the morning, getting everything ready for today. We try to provide fun and safe events for our community.”
Colin Rhea from AMJ Entertainment expressed his enthusiasm: “We love coming out here. We’re AMJ Spectacular Events, and we’ve been a part of this celebration for a few years now. The community really seems to love it. We’re running about a 250-foot zip line that brings real fun entertainment to the community. You can see when these kids come down with big smiles on their faces. It’s a great time.”
The manager of The Fun Ones also highlighted their contributions: “This is called a EuroBungy. It’s designed to help kids fly through the air and do back flips and front flips. Over there you’ll see our five-climber rock wall. It’s all about giving the kids a chance to have fun and try something new.”
The event concluded with a laser show that illuminated the night sky.
Final de Verano en el Parque: Un Día de Diversión y Comunidad en Cicero
El domingo 25 de agosto de 2024 se celebró el gran final de Verano en el Parque en el Parque Comunitario de Cicero, organizado por el Municipio de Cicero y el Departamento de Eventos Especiales.
El día comenzó a las 4 PM con una serie de actividades que incluyeron una pared de escalada y un EuroBungy para niños que realizaron volteretas en el aire y una tirolesa de 75 metros.
Griselda Unzueta del Departamento de Eventos Especiales comentó: “Es un momento realmente divertido para reunir a la comunidad."
Colin Rhea de AMJ Entertainment dijo: “Nos encanta venir aquí... A la comunidad realmente parece gustarle."
El gerente de The Fun Ones destacó su contribución al evento con su EuroBungy y pared de escalada para cinco personas.
La celebración culminó con un espectáculo láser que iluminó el cielo nocturno.
