Residents are reminded of the guidelines for yard waste collection, which includes grass clippings, leaves, small shrubbery trimmings, and plant materials such as weeds, unwanted plants, and roots.
It is important to ensure that the material is free from dirt and not mixed with refuse or recycling; each type of waste is collected separately and transported to different facilities. Grass clippings, leaves, and plant material must be placed in biodegradable paper bags or a refuse can with two handles, no larger than thirty-five gallons. If a can is used, it must be clearly marked "Yard Waste" and positioned so the collection driver can see it from the street.
The maximum weight for bags and cans is fifty pounds. Branches must be cut into four-foot lengths and bundled; bundles should not exceed two feet in diameter. Bushes cannot weigh more than fifty pounds or be longer than four feet or wider than two feet in diameter.
