The Village of Brookfield announced that it has been awarded an $18,500 grant from Morton Arboretum to support its Tree Inventory and Urban Forest Management Plan. The grant will help update the Village Code and identify planting locations and associated costs.

The approval came after a detailed review of the required deliverables by Morton Arboretum. The grant will cover approximately 60% of the total project cost of $30,633.80.

Village Forester Victor Janusz was instrumental in securing this funding through his efforts in completing the application process. His work aims to enhance Brookfield's tree canopy and implement urban forestry best practices. The Village anticipates receiving the funds within the next 30 days.
