Proviso Township Board met April 17

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER

The Board of Township Trustees of the Township of Proviso met at the Office of the Township Clerk, 4565 Harrison Street, Hillside, IL 60162, on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

2. ROLL CALL

Supervisor Corrigan called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and on a roll call

The following responded present: Trustees Christopher, Chavez, Chase, and Supervisor Corrigan. Also present were Attorney Durkin, Assessor Zawaski, and Clerk Williams. Trustee Thomas was absent.

3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Supervisor Corrigan led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Trustee Chavez moved, seconded by Trustee Chase, that the Board of Trustees approve the minutes of the Township Board Meeting held on April 9, 2024.

Ayes: Trustees Christopher, Chavez, Chase, and Supervisor Corrigan

Nays: None

Absent: Trustee Thomas

Motion Carried

5. APPROVAL OF BILLS

Trustee Christopher moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez, that the Board of Trustees approve payment of the bills submitted for April 1, 2024 – April 15, 2024.

Nays: None

Absent: Trustee Thomas

6. ATTORNEY’S REPORT

The Decennial Meeting will be immediately following the scheduled Board meeting. They will discuss the information regarding that meeting.

8. OLD BUSINESS

A. Supervisor’s Report – No warrants. Handyman reports and 103rd Illinois General Assembly report.

B. Clerk’s Report – None

C. Trustee’s Report – None

D. Elected Officials Report – None

E. Staff Report – Lorenzo discussed a few events coming soon for Youth Services. The Spring Kick Off. Topic: Building Strong Kids. Dream Out Loud conference for youth and the 17th Annual Autism & Developmental Disabilities Walk-A-Thon.

10. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

Homer Bizzle, Randy Mason and Michelle Bizzle attended. Homer Bizzle discussed funding for disabled veterans. Supervisor Corrigan and Homer Bizzle will meet to discuss additional options.

11. ADJOURNMENT

Trustee Chase moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher, that the Board of Trustees adjourn the meeting at 5:44 p.m.
