Proviso Township Board met Nov. 6.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1) CALL TO ORDER

The Board of Town Trustees of the Town of Proviso met at the Office of the Township Clerk, 4565 Harrison Street, Hillside, IL 60162 on Monday, November 6, 2023.

2) ROLL CALL

Supervisor Corrigan called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m., and on a roll call the following responded: Trustees Thomas, Christopher, Chavez, Herrell, Supervisor Corrigan. Also present were Clerk Williams, Attorney Durkin, Assessor Zawaski, and Jorge Velazquez, Director of Senior Services.

3) PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Supervisor Corrigan led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

4) APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Trustee Christopher moved, seconded by Trustee Herrell, that the Board of Trustees approve the minutes of the Township Board Meeting held on October 18, 2023.

5) APPROVAL OF BILLS

Trustee Chavez moved, seconded by Trustee Herrell, that the Board of Trustees approve payment of the bills submitted for October 16, 2023 – October 31, 2023

6) ATTORNEY’ REPORT

A. Supervisor’s Report – Warrants signed. Handyman and legislative report attached.

Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher, that the Board of Trustees Approve the warrants for August and September 2023.

B. Clerk’s Report – Birth and Death revenue reported. Announced Marilyn’s retirement

D. Elected Officials Report – Assessor Zawaski said they had 2,176 appeals in the office. The Board of Review will open in January or February of 2024

E. Staff Report – Jorge Velazquez, Director of Senior Services, sold out Hamilton tickets for November 29, 2023, and ordered a second bus for January 10, 2024, which is still available

9) NEW BUSINESS

A. Consideration to approve specific personnel matters requiring board action. B. Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher, that the Board of Trustees Accept the Annual Financial Audit from GW & Associates

C. Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez, that the Board of Trustees Approve a Resolution Determining the Estimated Property Taxes to Be Levied for the Proviso Township Mental Health Commission for the 2023 Tax Year for $5,052,570.00

D. Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Christopher that the Board of Trustees Approve a Resolution determining the Estimated Property Taxes to be Levied for the Proviso Township and General Assistance Purposes for the 2023 Tax Year for $6,272,000.00
