Proviso Township Board met Oct. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER

The Board of Township Trustees of the Township of Proviso met at the Office of the Township Clerk, 4565 Harrison Street, Hillside, IL 60162, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

2. ROLL CALL

Supervisor Corrigan called the meeting to order at 5:37 p.m. on a roll call the following responded present: Trustees Thomas, Chavez, Herrell, Christopher, and Supervisor Corrigan. Also present were Attorney Durkin, Clerk Williams, and Assessor Zawaski.

3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Supervisor Corrigan led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Trustee Herrell moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez, that the Board of Trustees approve the minutes of the Township Board Meeting held on October 2, 2023.

5. APPROVAL OF BILLS

Trustee Christopher moved, seconded by Trustee Herrell, that the Board of Trustees approve payment of the bills submitted for October 1, 2023 – October 15, 2023.

6. ATTORNEY’S REPORT

A new law, effective January 2024, the Paid Leave Act for all workers. Statue #820 ILCS192. The Board of Trustees will review and discuss.

7. CLOSED SESSION

None

8. OLD BUSINESS

Supervisor’s Report – No warrants. Governor’s highlights presented. Handyman report provided. Supervisor Corrigan, Clerk Williams, and Trustee Herrell will attend Jesus “Chuy” Garcia Proviso Municipal League Dinner on Thursday, November 2, 2023.

C. Elected Officials Report – Property Appeals are open for the next few weeks. The Village of Westchester, Hillside, and Berkeley are scheduled for an Outreach next week.

11. ADJOURNMENT

Supervisor Corrigan moved, seconded by Trustee Chavez, that the Board of Trustees adjourn the meeting at 5:58 p.m.
