Candidate for Governor Sen. Darren Bailey (R-Louisville) assured his supporters in Oak Brook that their prayers and hard work will bring victory.
"We firmly believe our campaign has been blessed with success thus far because we turn everything over to God in prayer," Bailey said. "Cindy, Stephanie and I were reminded of this, and deeply encouraged after a wonderful meeting in Oak Brook this Wednesday. Your support, prayers, and hard work will lead us to victory this Tuesday!"
In one recent poll, Bailey and opponent Gov. J.B. Pritzker are virtually tied. According to a poll of 600 likely voters by Osage Research conducted from Oct. 13–15, 42% of respondents said they would vote for Bailey while 44% said they would vote for Pritzker again. With a +/-4% deviation, Bailey and the incumbent Democrat are in a statistical tie, according to Prairie State Wire.
According to his campaign website, Bailey is grounded in the conservative values of hard work, individual liberty, and social responsibility. His campaign asserts that he knows that these precious freedoms are threatened every day by big government and powerful career politicians. Currently, "there is a political class that is ignoring our values and harming American families. Illinois needs a leader that is one of us,” Bailey stated on his website. The State Senator has "high hopes for Illinois and is running for Governor to protect the freedoms sacred to all that call the Land of Lincoln home. Bailey will boldly and courageously stand for you, the citizen."
Bailey recently took to Facebook to thank his supporters.
"In the final weeks, our movement is surging and I promise you we will continue working day in and day out to reach voters across Illinois who are desperate for a new hope in our state. Keep the faith, and keep spreading the word! November 8th will be here quick!”
Bailey's campaign website describes him as a proud third-generation farmer, who has a deep understanding of earning an honest living which he learned at a young age growing up on their family's farm. Born and raised in Louisville, he now owns and operates, together with his sons the Bailey Family Farm.
