Dominican University baseball's Grayson Downing and Hayden Young both earned Third Team All-Region nods in Region 8 from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings, as announced Tuesday afternoon.

Young earned Second Team All-NACC honors, holding a 7-1 overall record with a 2.64 ERA. The Foothill Ranch, Calif. native racked up 61 strikeouts in 71.2 innings.  Young's seven wins tied for second-most in the NACC while his ERA and strikeout totals were both inside the top-seven.

His best performance of the season came in a complete-game victory over Wisconsin Lutheran on April 3 in which he surrendered just one run and walked two while striking out seven. He also posted a career-best 11 strikeouts in a win over Concordia-Wisconsin on April 16.

Downing anchored Dominican's leadoff spot with a .368 average, collecting 60 hits and 46 runs scored. He totaled 18 extra-base hits with 10 doubles, six triples and two homers in his sophomore campaign. The Streamwood, Ill.-native was also a menace on the base paths, stealing 14 bases in 15 attempts.

The South Elgin product began the season with a 13-game hitting streak and also had a streak of nine games during the 2022 campaign. Downing's banner performance of the season came in a win over Elmhurst, in which he went 3-for-5 with a double and a homer, scoring three runs and knocking in two.
