City of Northlake City Council met Feb. 14.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: Alderman Straube

Alderman Feldmann

Alderman Contreras

Alderman Johnson

Alderman Gonzalez

Alderman Grochowski

Alderman Patti

ABSENT: Alderman Garcia

Mayor Sherwin presented the minutes of the city council meeting held on January 10, 2022. Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the minutes of the city council meeting held on January 10, 2022; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin asked if there were any additions or corrections. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor. The motion carried.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING

HELD ON JANUARY 10, 2022 CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to accept the Warrants and Vouchers; seconded by Alderman Feldmann. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

ABSENT: Alderman Garcia

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE WARRANTS AND VOUCHERS CARRIED

Mayor Sherwin noted the City Council will resume its regular schedule of two meetings per month for March, April and May. Alderman Feldmann noted she has received several messages of thanks for the dog park maintenance during the winter months and asked that this information be passed on to Public Works. Alderman Patti stated the craft project hosted by the Youth Commission was very successful.

Alderman Contreras made a motion to refer a Request for Special Use in I-1 Limited Industrial District to build temporary lodging for a training center on the 2nd floor at 80 W. Lake Street to the City of Northlake Zoning Board of Appeals and Plan Commission; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO REFER A REQUEST FOR SPECIAL USE IN I-1 LIMITED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO BUILD TEMPORARY LODGING FOR A TRAINING CENTER ON THE 2ND FLOOR AT 80 W. LAKE STREET TO THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS AND PLAN COMMISSION CARRIED

Alderman Grochowski made a motion to refer a Request to Change Zoning from R-1 Single Family Residence District to B-2 Retail and Service Business District and a variance from the required 20 feet setback to zero feet to the City of Northlake Zoning Board of Appeals and Plan Commission; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO REFER A REQUEST TO CHANGE ZONING FROM R-1 SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE DISTRICT TO B-2 RETAIL AND SERVICE BUSINESS DISTRICT AND A VARIANCE FROM THE REQUIRED 20 FEET SETBACK TO ZERO FEET TO THE CITY OF NORTHLAKE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS AND PLAN COMMISSION CARRIED

Alderman Contreras made a motion to approve Resolution R-01-2022; A Resolution Approving and Authorizing Execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement with Cook County Regarding the Connecting Cook County Program; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO APPROVE RESOLUTION R-01-2022; A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH COOK COUNTY REGARDING THE CONNECTING COOK COUNTY PROGRAM CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the 2023/2024 Residential Street Sweeping Proposal; seconded by Alderman Gonzalez. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO APPROVE THE 2023/2024 RESIDENTIAL STREET

SWEEPING PROPOSAL CARRIED

Alderman Patti made a motion to approve the Employment Agreement with the Police Chief; seconded by Alderman Grochowski. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO APPROVE THE EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE POLICE CHIEF CARRIED

Alderman Contreras made a motion to approve Resolution R-02-2022; A Resolution Authorizing an Application for the Surface Transportation Program (STP) Funding for the Rehabilitation of Wolf Road Between Lake Street and North Avenue, Cook County, Illinois; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for the roll.

MOTION TO APPROVE RESOLUTION R-02-2022; A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION FOR THE SURFACE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM (STP) FUNDING FOR THE REHABILITATION OF WOLF ROAD BETWEEN LAKE STREET AND NORTH AVENUE, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS CARRIED

A representative from the Marathon gas station requested a liquor license to sell beer and wine. Mayor Sherwin instructed him on the process of obtaining same.

There being no further business, Alderman Straube made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Patti. Mayor Sherwin called for a voice vote. All were in favor.
