Dear Friends and Supporters,

On behalf of Project H.O.O.D.’s Advisory Board and 2021 Gala Committee, we are honored to invite you to an elegant evening celebrating Project H.O.O.D.’s work at our Annual Fundraising Gala. The event will take place on Friday, October 1, 2021 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Union Station. I ask you to please join us as we honor our sponsors and friends while sharing some of our work on the SouthSide of Chicago.

This year we are celebrating Project H.O.O.D.'s 10th Anniversary. Pastor Brooks started Project H.O.O.D.10 years ago by spending 94 days on the roof of an abandoned hotel to raise gun violence awareness. Now, Project H.O.O.D.'s expansive programming benefits youth and families in the Woodlawn and Englewood neighborhoods by promoting entrepreneurship and providing the support necessary to make the neighborhood a safer place.

Here are just a few of our programs:

  • Violence Prevention Team to intervene before the violence starts
  • Construction Training to provide training and career pathways in the trades
  • Entrepreneurship mentoring to support local businesses and promote local startups
  • Career and financial training to our community members
  • Youth Programming to give children a safe summer camp and alternative activities

It is our wish to bring people together from all over the city and beyond who have an interest in becoming part of the solution to the epidemic of crime, violence, and poverty on the SouthSide of Chicago. Through creative community engagement programs and services, Project H.O.O.D. is transforming lives.

We are also excited about our progress towards building a community center in Woodlawn.

We are in plans to break ground in the Summer of 2022 and our Capital Campaign is in full swing.

Your Gala sponsorship will go directly towards programming and our new center. Our Annual Gala plays an important part in the financial support of our impactful programs. Our work would not be possible without the generous support of individuals and companies like yours.

Thank you for understanding how important it is to help bring change to our community.

On behalf of the community we serve, we thank you for your consideration and hope you will join us for this celebratory and engaging evening!

 All my best,

 Pastor Corey B. Brooks
